Fakenham Racecourse is delighted to announce that Snellings, the Norwich-based electrical appliance and audiovisual installation specialists, are the new title sponsors and race sponsor of The Norfolk National Race Day on Tuesday 9th May. The Norfolk National race was first staged last year and immediately made a big impact in the racing calendar. It is a long-distance steeplechase race of over three and a half miles and this year will have a value of £25,000. This makes the Snellings Norfolk National the most valuable and longest race that Fakenham runs and it is great news that Snellings will become synonymous with such a prestigious Norfolk race.
The Chief Executive of Fakenham Racecourse, David Hunter said:
“I am delighted that The Snellings Group is sponsoring Fakenham Racecourse’s Norfolk National Raceday for a five-year deal starting on Tuesday 9th May 2017. This race day has become an important fixture in our racing calendar because we run Fakenham’s most valuable and longest distance race on that day – The Snellings Norfolk National – a steeplechase race which is just over three and a half miles long. We ran the race for the first time last year and it attracted a very competitive field of 11 runners and was won by Rebecca’s Choice. This year, with the help of Snellings sponsorship, we have been able to increase the race prize money to £25,000. We are now in the process of putting the final touches of the meeting together and are working hard with the Snellings team to create a unique and quintessential Norfolk race day experience for everyone. We are all extremely grateful to Snellings for their generous sponsorship and are very much looking forward to the day and working with Snellings to further develop the relationship over the next five years.”
The Director of Snellings, Rowland Cogman added:
“Snellings are proud to be supportive of the local community and to sponsor the Norfolk National Race Day. We look forward to this partnering with Fakenham Racecourse and to increasing the Norfolk Brand within the wider community.”
